More than this

The common question we often ask everyday is “is there more to life?” Sometimes, we've come a point where we feel that everyday is so mundane – waking up in the morning, going to work (or school), get back, rest, sleep then same cycle repeats every day. It can be tiring and discouraging when we slowly lose our sense of purpose of living and my hope through this song is to encourage everyone to look at life in a fresh perspective instead of looking at it in a mundane way. I know different people deals with life differently but hey, do things that bring you joy and purpose. Also, I want to encourage you to share what you are going through with your loved ones and close friends. Everyone has their own battles in life but remember that you are not alone. To explain the artwork for this song, my good friend Darren C. Edward illustrates that message in the subtle way where the rat represents the thought of us being in a “rat race”. In that picture, the rat tries to “break from its character” , by playing guitar to chill, in reflection that life is not about going through the motion but learning to have a sense of purpose. I wrote this song roughly about 2014, when I was still in Kota Kinabalu with reflections about what life is all about. It was in 2016 where I was able to tighten up the message of the song, perhaps after all the life experiences. I hope the song will lift your spirits and encourages you to don’t give up on life, as there’s more than what we are living for.
