Spring originally used the name Anthem, which is comprised of Ameng (vocal), Iskandar (lead guitar), Zahat (2nd guitar), Yunus (bass) and Acong (drum) was established in 1987.

 In 1991, Spring released their first album entitled Spring under the label Sony Music Malaysia with the hit single titled Sejiwa, composed by Adi Jagat and lyrics by Azida N.S.
